The Ottawa Humane Society puts the guest experience at the heart of its events — and the 2017 OHS Garden Party is no exception.
On June 21, Ottawa’s top chefs and mixologists will be taking over the Horticulture Building at Lansdowne Park, turning it into a true gourmet utopia for an indulgent evening of culinary masterworks.
This event is a delight for the senses and the heart, featuring tasting dishes and cocktails, as well as an open bar serving fine wines and craft beer. There will also be an opportunity for guests to bid on live and silent auction items, and a chance to mingle with animal volunteers — all in support of the animals in the care of the OHS.
The mastermind behind this annual event is the late Chef Kurt Weldele, a long time supporter of the animals. From a combination of his two passions — cooking and animal welfare — came the Garden Party, now a must-attend event in the summer social calendar. It is with great pride that we continue to honour the legacy of this Ottawa legend by hosting the Garden Party for Chef Waldele’s favorite cause: the animals in need in our community.
